I have a 2007 trailblazer ls with the 4.2. randomly driving down the road the abs,traction control and brake light, and traction contol maintenance light will all illuminate followed by the annoying dinging and the will go back off. it does this at random and is driving my wife crazy, any ideas?

Hey , I have a 2003 gmc envoy thats doing the same thing. Altmeter also goes down and on ocasion all gauges will float around but truck continues to run perfect. Previous owner had it into dealer and they could find no issues with it. He said it only started doing this after new battery was installed and best could figure was computer needed time to refresh itself and it eventually went away. I put a new battery in 4 days ago and it did this for about 15 miles and stopped but upon starting again this morning it happened again for about the same amount of time.
If you or anyone else have any info on this please share as it is very annoying.

My 2006 did that twice, both times i had to have the ignition switch replaced.

What was the cost of new ignition switch and how did they determine that was the issue. Mine is not throwing any codes a d according to previous owner dealer found nothing wrong with it.

My 07 had the same symptoms as yours and it did come down to being the ignition switch, it’s a twenty minute fix for around fifty dollars. There is a thread on this site on how to do the repair and the most important thing is that the vehicle is in park without the key in the ignition and that when you remove the old ignition switch that you align the teeth the same way on the new unit like it is on the old unit before replacing.

Even with the small problems I've had with my Trailblazer I still love driving it.

I think the dealer charged me me about 150 to fix.

i have had no codes and the battery is new. it had not done this since last week when i cleaned the ground cables. now it has done it the last wo days.
