No. The "menial tasks" are still done by volunteer admins and mods. The hosting, bandwidth issues, and larger infrastructure items that cost $$ are handled by the new owners and their paid admins. We just play in their sandbox.

Losing the store for tshirts and stickers wasn't done with the volunteer's knowledge or approval. For instance.

Well, already it looks like we lost something without our main peoples knowledge or approval! That don't bode well What is your honest opinion roadie, since so many of us rely on your input?

I love the sandbox the way it is. I love the members. I like to be able to volunteer whatever time I can afford to saving people money and denying it to those who would rip us off like dishonest mechanics and incompetent dealers.

That said, I won't poop in the sandbox. I'll wait to see if the new owners have a budget for cleaning it up or repainting the playground or what. But the hardcore offroad discussions have for the most part moved elsewhere, you might have noticed.

The keyword there is "Hardcore". I would expect the hardcore offroaders to branch out and do their own thing.

The nice thing about this site is that anybody and everybody with a Trailvoy can join here, no matter the level of modifications made to their rides. This is a great place to get ideas for future modifications, and also a great place to find help with everyday issues that may come up that could be something that can be done on your own instead of taking it to a mechanic and paying out the nose for repairs that you could do yourself, with the help of some of the members here. I've been a member since 4/08 and I have found many ideas and tips that have helped maintain my ride and also add a little custom touch.

I guess we will just have to give it time to see if anything else "dissapears"

Im pretty sure these new people have purchased this site and now have free rein to do with it what they want. This is how it goes with these forum buyouts which is happening to any decent size auto forum on the web these days. Still this is not nec a bad thing.

Have you noticed the influx of Ford, Dodge, and Jeep ads that appear now? I guess whoever will pay will play! But this in my opinion is the most informative and member friendly site there is! And these ads will not change my allegiance!
