Half way through my engine swap.

I'm half way through an engine swap in my 02 TB. I'm using a 03 motor.
Today after tapping two broken exhaust bolts,, I was swapping the flywheel and found out that the 02 has course threads and the 03 have fine threads, Looks like a trip to the dealer in the morning.
Pulled the pan in the old engine and found a lot of metal shavings, looks like some of the lower bearings are toast.
Couple more days and I'll have my TB back on the road.

The swap isn't too bad, I'd rate it at a 7 out of a 10,, not sure what a V8 swap would entail, but if you had all the parts it should be possible.

You'll want to be careful and lube all the bolts well before you turn a wrench on them they snap really easy if not,, you won't be able to do the job without an impact wrench, you'll have to remove just about everything from the engine to get it out,,

Yup, must be fun...I did my swap about 2 months ago when it threw a rod. If you get stuck or need some advice let me know, for the new threaded bolts you can go to schucks or napa or whatever you got around, probably cheaper. Wait till you get the engine in before you put the harmonic balancer on. You'll want a new bolt for that as well, about $12 from the dealer. Good luck
