Question Traction control really off ?

Hi i have an 08 Lt . I was in a dirt parking lot the other afternoon. I turned off the traction and punched it and it started to spin the rear wheels and after about 3 seconds it felt as if it limited its power. Now i take very good care of it and its not down on power at any other time. Now would there be a stability control that cant be turned off ? Any ideas would be great thanks

Hold the button down until it says "stabilitrak off". Momentarily pressing the button will only turn off traction control.

Thanks i had a feeling that there was something like that going on. I was only pressing the tract button not holding it. I will go out later and give it a go and see if it was what was stopping the tire spin .
