This question is more for Mark or anyone that has the lift with a engineering back ground.

I have been reading a lot lately about when you go up so does the upkeep and maintenance. For instance several people have been saying that components are breaking, or wearing out faster, due to the higher amount of strain and travel that these parts are under after the lift. My question is, is there a happy medium? Meaning, if I was to go with 1.5" in the front and 3/4" in the rear would I have just as much maintenance issues down the road or would they be cut in half since the lift is cut in half???:undecided I love my TB and love pushing it to its limits when it comes to off roading, but would be perfectly fine with only doing 1.5 inches of lift and 1.5 spacers if it means that I will not have to drop a grand in parts to it every 30-40k miles.

Thanks guys, and gals, I know I will get some good feed back on this topic. With the diverse group we have on here, I always do.:tiphat

Lets face the facts.
GM didnt build the TV platform to withstand constant offroading
useing the stock components.
It was designed to be a family all weather vehicle and was
built useing the cheapest parts suppliers they could find to make
a profit. GM even deleted the grease zerks from balljoints and tierod ends
to save a buck or two on the initial build.

When you change the suspension components of any truck or car
i dont care what brand ,make or model.you take the chance of
haveing higher maintinance cost..no matter how minor the change is.

Some components have a lifespan that would have wore out or broke
with or without modifications.

Forgive me for sounding like a smart @$$.
But thats like saying you dont like paying for brakes..but you stop
TWICE at every sign..

I would even stretch that to say that most mods... engine, suspension, rims, tires... all that stuff can cause premature wear of certain parts on any make and model... but as long as you don't go too extreme I would think that the extra cost wouldn't be to crazy. just my opinion...:coffee

New question.
Assumming you keep stock shocks, wheels, and tires, does anyone have "post-install" measurements up to the bottom of the body. Right now Im at about 13" front and 13.5" rear. Just want to know exactly how much higher this $134 will get me. Thanks.

Most of us measure to the fender lip for tire clearance, but
this measurement can be translated to where you are measureing
from also.Every one seems to get different amounts of lift.
I guess it depends on spring age and factory size..
Side note:
Use these measurements as an average..

Before lift:
Front 33.25
Rear 34.25

After lift:
Front 36.0
Rear 35.75

PM me if you need more info.
Here every day to help!

i cant tell you a certain size, cus alot of the guys have been building
some nice trucks with larger than expected tires..
Kinda depends on the rim you are gonna use, spacers/adapters?
There is a sticky in the offroad forum that might help you.

I think with stock rims you could run a 31.5" dia. tire,
its that upper balljoint that will limit your width.
Spacers can be bought for $149 shipped from ebay..

#124 ·
i figured that upper ball joint would limit me. i dont know a whole lot about TBs n their flex bc this is my 1st 1 so i didnt know how limited 2 tire height I'd be w/o doin extensive suspension work. I do love the looks of the product tho, cant wait to order mine. just gotta the $ n extra time to get it n tires then be able to do it all.

Correct!
The new struts come with a set of washers that you cant use.
I was gonna mention that before, but didnt want it to be confuseing.

if anyone has an extra set, please send them to me so i can keep
the price down for everyone.

This last batch of washers cost $60 for shipping only...
They only had enough for 5 kits available...

#150 ·
Yeah
i could get them made, but the tooling charge and piece commitment
was more than the factory price.
I would have to raise the price of the kits to cover the extra charge..:nono:

The whole idea of this kit is to keep the cost down for everyone, and
encourage partisipation in the threads..seems to be working well..

If you know someone that can do it, please feel free to look into it!:hail:

I am looking foreward to installing your kit at the chitown meet bro!!!

:thx:thx
