My 02 Envoy has a little miss at idle and I'm begining to suspect one of the coil packs is to blame. Is there any way to test these coils with a fluke meter or anything else?
I have been wondering the same thing. I had a miss too, but it never set a code, so I didn't know which coil it was. I ended up changing all six and that solved the problem (got them cheap on eBay).
With something like the coilpack, an OEM Delco is always preferred. However, Ive been using a Duralast from Autozone for 4 or 5 years now with absolutely no issue.
The real issue is getting to the coil pack failure; was it a result of a bad hood seal causing water to leak onto/into the spark plug wells and shorting out the coil pack, a bad valve gasket causing oil to leak in the wells and short out the coil pack, or just age?
