gut the stock air box and feed it fresh air, ie a pipe from the front side of the radiator to the air box, or a snorkal going in through the passenger side front fender straight into the air box,
second but expensive see if you can get you hands on the K&N plastic intake pipe DO NOT USE THE K&N filter, instead get your hands on the green performance filter or the blue volant filter
second but cheaper mod fabricate up your own intake pipe with pvc pipes i used 3inch white pvc pipes and coated it several times with high heat paint
thanks for the info, does anyone have a working system such as a volant or airaid etc that actually gets more H/P T/Q and MPGs that you can verify, not just the company line, theyll tell you anything just to make a sale! if so i would appreciate the info?!
as long as the air filter is isolated from the engine bay then there will be a slight improvement in performance, its not much but a slight improvement, maybe even enough to bring up mpg 2 or 3 miles per gallon.
if you want true performance upgrade then ur gonna want to go with a turbocharged or supercharged route then you will really see the performance increase
