Rear Wiper Not Working

Still going through everything, but looking to see if anyone has had their rear wiper up and quit on them. The only thing I can think of is yesterday I put the Battery on a 2A charge for a bit. Shouldn't be the cause of the problem but it hasn't worked since yesterday either.

Thoughts?

Too funny! Mine just went out 2 days ago! I haven't had a chance to look into it... but I am thinking fuse... same day my radio decided to reset the time (but stations and settings stayed the same) . I haven't done anything electrically new to my car so I have no idea why it would be doing this... Maybe moisture?? It has been raining a lot lately.

Well its been very cold here. I checked all the fuses then swaped the rear wiper relay with the fog light relay and it works. But so do the fog lights. Its either the cold or an electrical gremlin.
In any case, problem solved, for now....

hey guy, just thought i'd add my 2 cents - seeing as you and i share the same type of weather i'd thought i'd let you know about how everytime i wash my truck and go out in the cold my rear wiper won't work - it freezes up in fact. when it warms up - no problem. my buddy at a local dealer told me that it is designed not to work if there is any type of resistance. so that the arm won't break. just thought i'd share a story.

hi, most likely when u charged ur battery u reset ur rear gate madule (crappy electrical engineering) anyhow it happened when i replaced my battery, remote not working and rear wiper not working, any how way i fixed it was to unhook the battery and let it sit over night then reattach and let the engine run or drive for half an hour, don;t turn on ur rear wiper or use ur remote during this half hour. it should work after that.

Ok... so yesterday I checked the fuses with a voltmeter and they are "fine"... Disconnected the battery for awhile... connected the battery and waited awhile and tried my rear windshield wiper... still didn't work... the windshield wiper fluid sprayer works though... so, could it be the rear windshield wiper motor or the switch?

Any help or suggestions would be awesome!!

Ha! It's hilarious (and by hilarious I mean sad, of course) that so many people suffer the same issues. My rear wiper packed it in last winter and I've decided to take a stand against its sloth-like ways and replace the motor. Is it a dealer only part or is there a generic version? Anyone know how much?
Thanks!

I've never done it, but rockauto.com will usually list all the possible aftermarket possibilities along with the AC Delco OEM alternative if they're available. I'd recommend Ebay, though, if you're looking for low cost.

Is there another way to program it other than a tech II. The dealer wants $150.00 to program it.
I never heard of anything but the Tech II being able to handle it. GM's customer-UNFRIENDLY way of making sure the dealer's kids get fed even if we're not buying new cars. The $150 is a total ripoff, of course, for ten minutes work. I'd find an independent GM specialist who should also have invested in a Tech II, and who might charge a fair price for the work. Call around. I'm lucky enough to have such a shop ten minutes from my house.

I am in my second liftgate control module. My second one gave out a year and a half ago. My rear wiper and washer do not work. I checked the wires at the hinge and they are good. I am thinking I have another bad module. A new LCM is a hundred bucks locally. Is there another way to program it other than a tech II. The dealer wants $150.00 to program it.

So I noticed that it has almost been a year since the last reply, I still haven't had any luck with the rear wiper, the defroster works as well as the window washer fluid, but the arm is a no go. I tried replacing the main fuze under the rear drivers side seat and nothing with that. I'm hoping it's just bad wiring in the gate, I can't see spending a ton of money on a LCM......

'03 Trailblazer - rear wiper not working

The rear wiper on my TB is not working. I checked all wiring and I am getting 12V to the motor. I have a couple of questions; the orange wire at the motor is the hot wire and the black wire is ground...what is the green wire? Also, does the motor need to be mounted in place to be properly grounded so that it will operate? I got one from the junkyard to test by just plugging it in but I could not mount it (and it did not work).

Thanks for any assistance.

Rear Wiper Works Sometimes???

Hi All,
I am new here as I just purchased a 2006 Trailblazer LT in excellent condition. We bought it for towing a small camper and I have fallen in love with it. Rides great, handles great and is a solid and quiet vehicle....only wish I had gotten one sooner. There is only one thing that is driving me nuts and I can't seem to track it down. The rear wiper works sometimes! The first time I tried to turn it on there was power as the arm moved about 1/2 an inch and stopped. I replaced the motor which was bound up and when I went to turn it on it would not work. When I pulled out the 15 amp Circuit breaker/fuse under the rear seat (with the power on and wiper switch on) and then put it back in the motor started working. But, when I turn off the vehicle and it sits for a while the motor will not run unless I remove and replace the breaker again. It will however work if I shut off and restart right away. I have tried replacing the breaker/fuse to no avail. I am hoping that someone else has had this or a similar problem and can offer some advice.
:bonk:
