Could be, but this engine is DOHC, so you won't get lifter knock when the oil pressure is low... You should get rod knock when there is NO oil pressure, though...
I'd personally put a physical gauge on it to make sure exactly what it's running (like a test gauge)...
The oil sending unit (gm calls it the oil pressure sensor) has a high failure rate.
I've had to change mine, and a number of others have reported failure as well.
It's mounted just above the oil filter
Pull the filter and it's right there.
