Windshield Washer Nozzles Clogged
Got an 06 Envoy w/ clogged windshield washer nozzles. I sprayed some water into the nozzles and it apparently pushed back whatever is blocking the line. Windshield washer fluid was flowing for a couple of tries, then clogged back up again. The line going to the windshield in the engine compartment looks to be coupled together. I tried pulling them apart but it didn't really want to budge. Instead of causing more damage I figured I'd ask you guys to see if anyone else has run into this problem before and has a fix. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you try a small needle into the openings?
I used to do that on my old cars.

If you have an 06 and if you've used bottled washer fluid, I'd have to think you have factory dirt in the system, maybe a bad pump, or an about to be bad pump. I think I trip to the dealer (warranty) is called for.

Does the fluid come out at all or is it completly clogged? On my '02 mine was only partially clogged, but when I tried a pin to unclog it the problem only became worse. I ended up just replacing the nozzle. It wasn't too hard. There are 2 or 3 fasteners on each side. Since only the one side was bad I only removed the fasteners on the affected side. I turned the wipers on and stopped them when the were verticle. I was then able to pull the cowl cover up (it is held in by clips similar to the ones that hold the grill and many other parts) and slip my hand under to release the hose from the nozzel. You then have to squeeze the bottom of the nozzel to allow it through the hole. Installation is just the reverse. The nozzel cost me about $19 at the dealer but I found it on gmpartsdirect.com for $11.20 plus shipping. The part number is 15173510. Hope that helps!

It wasn't completely blocked. It would spray the fluid about 4 inches up the windshield. After hitting it w/ the hose, it seemed to help open up the flow a little bit, then got back to the weak stream. I was hoping to avoid a trip to the dealership. Since it is under warranty I'll have to take advantage of it.

I have a friend that is a mechanic at the dealer, he told me it is a very common that they replace them on tbs. Mine's an 05 and I had to change them. I was lucky it was still under warranty

I have replaced mine 3 times and cleaned more than I can count. If you are good with medical clamps you can use a small screwdriver and pop the nozzle out of the square opening. Use the medical clamp to pull the hose "T" through the hole and hold it there. Clean the nozzle and use compressed air to blow everything out of it both ways and reattach the T to the nozzle and push the nozzle back down into the hole. Done....

Anyone have problems with washer fluid freezing in the nozzel? I've heard some recommend adding a little anit-freeze to the washer fluid. Could this cause any damage?
