Unhappy TERRIBLE gas mileage lately

My trailblazer has been getting terrible gas mileage lately...i fill it up with premium, and when i fill up, it says about 185 miles to the tank, and it used to say around 240-250ish...

i just got my truck back from the dealership after getting an electrical problem fixed, and with 4/5ths of a tank, the DIC says i have 135 miles to empty

i feel like my mileage is alot lower than it should be, and i just installed a new K&N filter also.

when i reset the AVG MPG, i was going between stoping and about 35 mph, and within that time frame, the AVG gas mileage would not go above 10 or so...at idle, it would slowly tick down to as low as about 5...what gives??

My Oil life is about 47%, which may be some of the reason, and i plan on changing the oil soon...what oil do you reccomend?

Mine is also that bad, but I have the 2" lift and 32" tires. Mine was alot better with the stock tune as well. The PCMforless tune is awesome in the power dept., but horrible for gas mileage (at least in my case).

350+ to a tank? holy ****...i wish

how do you drive?? are you heavy on the pedal at all or do you take it easy 100% of the time.

I cant imagine what could be wrong...i bought the car december 15th 06....i havent personally changed the oil, or any filters except the air filter.

i thought the dealerships were supposed to change the oil for you? although my oil life was at about 74% when i got it

Fill the tank and tell us how many miles till the light comes on. Then, fill the tank again and make a note how many gallons it took to fill up. Although the DIC is somewhat trustworthy you can't base anything scientific except for how many miles you get on the tank...not how much is remaining. In some places the gas stations have a winter "brew" with a touch more crap to keep water out of the tanks and can reduce mileage...being alcohol based or whatever.
