Question Camshaft Install Kit for 6.0 L LS2 2007 Engine Applications

Ok guys or venders.. I have a Q. DO you absolutely need to upgrade to this 3 bolt conversion kit to run a new Cam in the 2007 LS2 SS

"On the new 2007 LS2 engines Chevrolet has gone to a single bolt camshaft sprocket design and uses a spring-loaded chain tensioner. To install the earlier style camshaft with the three-bolt sprocket you need this kit. Kit includes three-bolt sprocket, chain damper & camshaft bolts. The damper is installed with the original bolts from the chain tensioner."

It seems that LPE didn't have the best answer. Or a answer that would merit another couple of hrs in shop time to swap to new 3 bolt set up. The shop said that the kit seems that the technology went backwards on this one.Is their slop in the chain if you don't do the conversion?.Can any one please chime in..again this is on the 2007 LS2.

Frank

Frank... You need to call my buddy's at Vengeance Racing in Cumming Georgia! Mike & Ron will take care of you! I believe I can say that I am probably the first one in the country to do a cam swap in an 07 TBSS. No kit needed!
