Probably a bad ignition switch Do you get any lights at all when you try starting it?

Did a search on this board and other boards, and it possibly might be related to a short within the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster), or even the BCM or RKE.

How's your battery?

Tried jumping it?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for a while to see if the problem goes away?

It sounds like the pass-key security has disabled your ignition. This normally prevents an unauthorized key from starting ur truck. Things that will cause ur key to not work are water and/or grease on key or in the ignition switch. If those things don't help, try disconnecting the battery for 10 min., might reset something.

I agree that it looks like a failure in the theft deterrent system, but Trailvoys contain Passlock security, not PassKey. Passlock consists of a hall-effect sensor and tamper resistor within the ignition cylinder housing, while the PassKey system uses a transponder in the ignition key head.

Passlock isn't affected by contamination of the key, but there are a number of things that can cause it to fail - high or low voltages, problems with the Passlock circuits, module communication failures...
Your best bet is to have the diagnostic trouble codes pulled - there are at least eight associated with Passlock failure.

Thanks vball61, I knew the keys were different, but did not know they were now different systems. What is in the key that hand-shakes with the cylinder electronics?

Nuthin'. It's just a plain ol' ignition key.

There's a magnet in the ignition cylinder, which, when the key is rotated, triggers a Hall effect sensor in the ignition cylinder housing, enabling the body computer to read the voltage across the tamper resistor.
If somebody attempts to force-rotate or slam-pull the ignition cylinder, the tamper resistor is (in theory) destroyed.
