Are there any lights on?

Also, on another note, why did you try to put it into 4LO to put it on some ramps? Wouldnt 4HI have worked too?

Did you engage it properly, you need to do something different when going into 4LO over the rest, there is a special precedure to use. Cant recall what it is, but there is a thread about it. Also, check the owners manual, it tells you how to do it.

Without going outside at 1:30AM and checking the owners manual, I think you need to have the truck stopped and in neutral (N). Certainly can't shift into 4LO on the fly like you can 4HI.

You need to put your truck in neutral, then put the transfer case into neutral by holding the 4WD switch past 4LO until you see a red N, then release and it will go into 4LO. You may not even need to hold the 4WD switch until it goes into N, just put the tranny in N, then put the 4WD to 4LO.

Thanks, that was what I was talking about. You need to put the tranny in N and then you can shift directly into 4LO, otherwise you need to put the Transfer case in N by holding the switch past 4Lo, when the red N lights, then you can release it and it will go into 4Lo.

Yea, I have done that before, just put it into 4LO for the heck of it, never needed it before.

If you don't do that, it will blink for 30 seconds and go back to the original setting. It's best to be moving at 1-3 MPH, but i don't know how you should do that while in neutral

I generally just let my TB roll slowly, put the transmission in neutral and flip the switch. The light flashes for a few seconds and then changes over. Never had to use it for real, but I've used it to pull the boat out of the lake. Take my foot off the brake and it just walks up the ramp.

I do the same as the poster above me. Get it rolling 1-3mph, throw the tranny in Neutral, and then switch over. It drops right into 4LO. I used 4LO for pulling out some shrubs in the front yard once.
