Found Exhaust Leak (pics) - Chevy TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer SS and GMC Envoy Forum

Well, I finally got a chance to take better look at finding my exhuast leak.
I have to say that I am VERY surprised as to what I found. I called the dealer and of course there are no recalls or bullentins pertaining to my problem but, the service guy recommended calling Chevrolet directly, which I did and have an appointment tomorrow to hopefully have it repair, once they identify whether it is a deffect or something that I may have done. It will be VERY hard for me to swallow if they attempt to tell me that it was something that I did. Wish me luck.

i guess im blind i dont see a leak. i thought exhaust leaks show up black nasty lookn soot.

That is correct, it is cracked. It starts about mid way up the 4th port back and runs down to where the last 3 ports meet before going into the exhaust pipe. I thought that the pictures would get bigger if you clicked on them. That's how it's set up on my cardomain site. If you search for calkid1 on the cardomain site you should be able to find them there and enlarge them.

Casting fatigue.. That blows. I bet a dollar to a donut that the dealer tries to pass the buck and not pay for the repair...

Read up and see if it will qualify under the emissions warranty

I agree they may try to pass it off but, I can't see how they are going to justify it. I was asked if the truck ever bottomed out or hit something underneath but, there is no evidence of that ever happening. I guess we will soon see. I have an appointment for tomorrow morning at 9:00 am.

It should be in the back of the owners manual or a supplement that was included with the owners manual...it will list the parts covered.
