I run mid grade as well. Would never put anything else into my vehicle, unless I need to get as much as possible out of what I am paying. Very rarely will I go to low grade.

Well from a slow changeover from reg(87octane) to medium(89octane) to premuim(91octane) definitely noticed better throttle response and acceleration with the Envoy......In regards to MPG have not been counting, got a heavy foot.......and as well with gas going up, right now....its at $1.16 Can/L might have to switch back to 89 octane!!

I get crappy mileage no matter what I use. So I stick to 87 octane

On a stock tune I dont notice much difference, there is probably a small one though.

With my current custom tune there is a HUGE difference as Ive revamped the spark tables to be much more aggressive with higher octane gas vs lower octane. Even my best friend notices how much slower my TB is with 87.

So basically if you're stock stick to 87, tuned use the octane you're tuned for.

Hey Eric

That fabulous custom tune you cooked up for me .... is it optimized for for 91, 92, or 89? I can't remember

Someday I'll check my mileage .... foot is too heavy ..... maybe $1.40 a litre will do it?

unless your car needs/requires premium(by manufacturer or necessary by modifications made to engine) you are wasting money by putting more octane than needed, save your money

The best thing you could do with your extra $$ is to make sure your putting top tier gasoline in the truck. The added detergents are going to do so much more for your performance and gas mileage in the long run as opposed to a higher octane with less detergents
