AC Leak?

Is there a way to look for leaks in the AC Unit? I have had issues in the past and have replaced the Low Pressure Sensor and charged with refrigerant. I checked the pressure this afternoon and have no pressure on the low side. Any clues and help would be appreciated.

Put a UV dye in the system, recharge, and run it. Then use a UV light. Where the leaks are will glow.

There's a good chance that you'll wind up w/ additional component failures...best thing to do is fix the problem

BTW...I do not believe in any of the stop leak products; they may work, but the problem should be fixed, not temporarily masked

Looks like it is a leak. What is usually the cost of repair? I do have an extended warranty but it only covers the evaporator, condenser, compressor, compressor clutch, and seals/gaskets for covered parts. What are the odds that it is one of these?

The odds are pretty good that it's a component leaking...unless something bounced up under the hood and blasted a line

Well it's even worse. I have a busted discharge hi-pressure hose that runs to the rear air. Dealer says this hose is under the frame and the frame and body need to be separated in order to fix. They say I also need a receiver drier. Total cost for this at the dealer..................$1700.00. And of course it's not covered under my warranty. Any ideas?????

YIKES!! I think I'd be getting a second opinion on the repairs.

I have a call into an independent service station. Hoping the costs come down. I am however going to the dealer to complain. I've had the truck for 3 1/2 months and have already spent about $1000.00 in repairs. Not sure if it'll do any good but may make me feel better bit@#ing them out. I can't see that if they do their checks when they get cars/trucks in that they could miss this.
