Hi my car shuts off while driving

Hi, my car some times shuts off while driving. Then I start it and runs fine. In addition some times when I start it, it starts on the second try. Does any body have any idea of what could be causing the problem?
Thanks for your help.

What year do you have? That would happen occasionally to me on my 2004. The dealer ended up re-flashing the PCM and that fixed the problem.

I actually have an isuzu ascender 2005 which is the same as the trailblazer. What was the cost for flushing the PCM?

flashing the PCM = flashing the Powertrain Control Module....
meaning they reload the software....

flushing would mean theyre getting rid of some liquid.....

But- when youre driving- and it shuts off... how fast are you going?

if youre going slow 0-15 mph?- and making a turn or something--- is this when it turns off? or are you going 55-70 and it turns off?

it turns off when I am slowing down and it does not happen all the time. Once in a while, more like every other day once a day.

I'm thinking ignition switch. This happened to my g/f's Alero once in a while. She got the ignition switch fixed, and that solved the problem. But, the fact that it happens when you are slowing makes me think a loose connection somewhere.
