Exclamation Won't Start, need some help...

I need some help here ASAP...

The engine won't start, doesn't even respond to being jumped. Bought a new battery, now the radio, lights window etc. all work fine, but the engine doesn't even make an effort to turn over. I checked all the fuses and didn't see that looked blown...

Is this an ignition switch problem? Or something else?

you said the engine does not turn over .. as in it wont start or it wont crank?

IF it cranksbut wont start, that narrows it down.

IF it wont crank, does the lights dim when you try to crank it and do you hear a "click" under the hood at the same time? If you answered yes to either of these, based on year of your truck I would say the starter is frozen / stuck ..

I might be wrong as there are too many things about these trucks I am still learning ..

sounds exactly like an ignition switch; when they go you usually have electronics but won't crank

It might be your starter....I had the same problem a couple of months ago. I was able to narrow it down to the starter because I was detecting power was getting to the starter via the purple wire and I was able to bridge the circuit with a screw driver to get the solenoid working. Hope it makes sense and helps.

Does the security light blink when you try to start it? If so then it needs a security relearn done on it. A common issue when the battery goes completely dead. I will try to do a search for you to find the process. It was on here just a few days ago.

Here is the process:

if you can gain access to the ignition switch, check it to see how the contacs are that mioght be the easy way to eliminate it out of the picture... I know theres a topic on here some where about having some one replace it just cant seem to find where....

I actually had a similar problem happen to me just an hour ago.
i got out of work and tried starting my car and it would crank then stop for a second then crank back up then stop.

I tried that three times until i finally got it to start?

since i had driven it for awhile it starts up normal now but why would it do that?

i had a new Die Hard battery put in about a year ago.
