Speaker wiring COLORS?? Cant find any RELEVANT info!

trying to wire these new speakers.. having a hell of a time finding anything that makes sense all i get is this
LF Speaker +/- tan - grey
RF Speaker +/- lt green - dk green
LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow
RR Speaker +/- dk. blue- lt. blue

im ASSUMING tan would be POS? grey -s NEG??

except when i look at the clip itself.. theres a RED wire coming from GREY, and BLACK going from TAN..

so its quite backwards i dont know what the hell to think.. what is the DEFINITE wiring colors?? so i can wire these and get to bed??
And about the stock tweeter do u guys just leave that thing unhooked or what? The wire is just cut on it is now.. so i guess i just leave it alone?

thx for reply i was in a bind last nite.. apparantly previous owner must of repinned the damn second clip (from the speaker) because it was backwards... perhaps thats why i popped the door panels off expecting to find crappy stock speakers and there was a set of polk momo components in there that sounded like complete ****

False....when in doubt, there is accurate, reliable information available in the resources section

Ya they were all half assed put ion the door.. with the little black box.. the lil amplifier thing or something just hanging there. Although im not familiar with components it didnt have anykind of adjustments on it.. just a little black box.

the polks that were in the car are MMC650.. think there worth anything? or are they completely shot from being hooked up backwards for who knows how long.. they did sound like **** when i took them out

i replaced them with DB651 which sound pretty damn good

Wink Figured it out the hard way

I just put speakers in my daughter's 2003 Trailblazer. The factory speakers were much less that satisfactory, as 3/4 were blown.

Not having a wiring diagram, I looked at the front speaker, which was a combo of a 6.5 and a 1.5 tweeter. While the whole assembly used the classic GM connector, the 6.5 had a wide connector blade on it, which was posititve, which went to the black/red wire (seems backwards, huh). Cheated at that point, and just wired the + to the black/red wire and the - to the red wire for the front assemblies.

A similar approach for the rear speakers led me to believe the darker wire (brown or blue) was the positive connection here. Again, totally illogical, but what the hey.

This of course is for the non-Bose setup. Hopefully Bose speakers would hold up better.
