3rd brake light on 2002 Envoy?

I need to replace the 3rd brake light on my 2002 GMC Envoy, but I see no visible means of removing it. I would appreciate any and all advice. There are no screws, clips, etc. that I can see.

Hello,
If you open the window itself instead of the whole tailgate you'll see the 2 screws. I did the same thing, looking for the screws, it's like an AH-HA moment or in my case a DUH moment.
The wire runs though a grommet and on mine there was a tiny zip tie squeezing the grommet rubber to seal it.
You can cut the zip tie pull the grommet out and pull the wire through the hole then you'll see the plug.

Hope that helps,

Frank

3rd Brake Light

itpphoto---Thanks so much! That was a "DUH" moment. The service techs at my local GM dealer did not know that. They told me to remove the inside trim, or remove the entire outside trim piece. What morons!! Anyway, you are a money saver!!!
