Oil change
Hello good people, new to the website. I recently purchased a 2006 trailblazer with a 4.2 vortek. I wanted to change the oil myself, was wondering how many quarts of oil does the motor take. I am not sure if these engines hold more than 5 quarts. Thanks!

They hold 7 quarts. There are good write up on how-tos if you doa search for them. Oh .. and Welcome to the site ..

Welcome. This sort of question and many others are answered in the Owner's Manual, and if you didn't get one with the vehicle, then look under the "Resources" pull down menu for a PDF replacement. Especially if you have a 4WD version there are some important warnings and cautions.

oil change
I see all the stuff on oil changes here but how do you reset the engine oil light after the oil change???
