Headlight bulb replacement

Hey guys I have a 2003 Trailblazer and I'm looking for any tips on how to replace the low beam headlight bulb on the drivers side. I can get the round cover off the back but I can't get a good enough hold on the bulb assembly to turn it counter clockwise to loosen it up. Anyone have any suggestions on this?

Can take the front half of the truck apart . . . Pull the grill off and the headlight out. There is a How-To in the Articles section IIRC. Only takes 2 minutes longer. . ..

Very easy the grill has 10 clips that hold it on, 2 on each headlight 4 on top and 2 on bottom, just pull on them and they will pop off, and then the headlight housing has 2 pins you pull up on to take it off, one is kind of under the fender might need a screwdriver to get it off, but other than that very easy removal and installation.

No other way around it, other than taking the battery out and or the air box, depending on the side the light is out... if you disconnect the battery, then you will also have to take the air box off, since you will have to clean the throttle body... ..

I have NEVER had to take the fron end of my TB apart to get to the bulb: Driver side: You've already got the rubber caps off. You have to remove the battery - NO BIG DEAL! - you're gonna have to reach in a bit to grab the bulb end to give it a twist. I've done this several times, even when I had piece o'crap HIDs.

True, passenger side you're going to have to remove the air box, still NO BIG DEAL. just remove it (3 long screws), reach in a give a twist.

For the life of me, I can't understand these recommendations of taking the grille out, headlights out, yadda yadda.

Make it easy on yourself.

i've done it both ways, grill out-lights out and removing battery and air box. IMO it's easier popping clips open than removing the battery and air box.

it's a lot quicker popping the grill off and the 2 tabs that hold the headlight in place....

Hi, my first post. I was looking for an easier way to replace the passenger side headlight bulb. This is the fourth time it has gone out. The first time was due to a shorted-out plug (had to be replaced). Don't know why this burns out so quickly. Any suggestions as to other possible problems? Thx, James
