2006 Trailblazer engine code PO506

I have an engine code PO506 on a 06 Trailblazer that says idle air control system rpm lower than expected.I can not pass emissions with out correcting this.If anyone has any information on how to correct this problem it would be much appreciated.

Two cheap and easy things to try:

1.Clean the throttle body.

2.Run some Seafoam through the system.

Do a search for P0506 and see what you come up with. That's P-zero-five-zero-six.
If you put in P-oh-five-zero-six, not as much will come up.

There's no IAC on these trucks, but anything that can affect the performance
of the air intake can contribute to this code. Buildup behind the throttle butterfly
can cause obvious rpm fluctuations, especially with the AC on.

How many miles on your truck? How's the maintenance?

i just had that code on my 06 tb.. i took off the throttle body and it was very dirty.. i used throttle body cleaner and put it all back together. then i used my code reader to erase the code and so far so good. took about an hour and cost me 10 bucks for the cleaner..

You DID have the battery disconnected for at least 30-40 minutes while you cleaned the tb, correct?
