Low radio volume

My radio volume on my 2004 Trailblazer has never gone up very loud, even when I turn the knob all the way. Does anyone know what could cause this?

Do all the speakers work? turn the fade on your stereo and check it out.

The factory stereo isn't very loud. If I recall correctly when you turn it a little past half way up it maxes out.

If your looking for it to be louder I would suggest and aftermarket HU with an AMP

with Dave.. an aftermarket HU will do wonders on your stock speakers..then when you blow um, get some good components and never look back.. I had the same issue in my SS..crappy stock HU..replaced it with a 7"DD HU..and my factory speakers lasted 2 years..finally blew a back one out and got components in all 4 doors..BIIIIIIG difference
