Fuel injector stuck open!
I'm helping out a friend with his '05 TB. When he starts up, clouds of white
smoke pour out of the exhaust and it has a rough idle. No misfire codes. I
believe he has an injector stuck open. Problem is on these trucks, you can't
get to the injectors to check them with a noid light. I am not one to throw
parts at a problem to see what works so, no, I won't replace all the injectors.
I want to isolate it to the problem part. (specific injector or PCM)
I'm interested to see what others have done with this same problem. I'm
working with basic tools. No fancy scan tools or scope. It just dawned on me
that the fuel pressure regulator could cause a similar problem if it were leaking
at the diaphragm. Any input will be greatly appreciated .
