Well i have been contemplateing the idea of makeing and
selling a spacer kit of my own, since smaxx used my idea and
i have recieved no compensation.

The kit would consist of the front 2.5" (aluminum)spacers and hardware,
also the kit would include the blocks for the rear in whatever size you
want.

Would $120 + shipping for the kit be out of line? (Trailvoy members only)

I just wanted to get some feedback from everyone.

:thx

So the SMaxx design was yours and your not getting cominsation for it?? Thats a load of B.S. When you get this going, let me know, I will order a kit from you!! Oh, and of course a sticker for the back of the TB so everyone knows who to call!!

Yepper,,my design..
I made the mistake of sending samples to Larrys R&D dept. and
he ran with it..he even used my (aluminum) samples on his website..
On another note, he has gone behind my back to MY secondary tooling
maker to redesign the upper balljoint arm for an additional lift kit option.
so watch for that on his site in the next month or two..

But i dont get mad, i get even..haha..
i WILL get my hands on that new tool he is getting made one way
or another.
Thanks for the input, and sorry for venting..just a little frosted..

I wouldnt miss this meet for anything!!
The kit i sent you is partly my design, the only change will be
the plastic spacers will be aluminum.Larry had extra plastic
spacers to get rid of before changeing over.
so go ahead and do the install, but thanks just the same!!!

Can you really add more spacers to the 2-2.5 inch"s already? I know my rebound hits pretty hard as it is because of the spacers. Meaning when I hit divits in the road the suspension fully extends and it slams pretty hard. Maybe this will change with the new Bilsteins.

I forget if you still have the OEM black Bilsteins. If so, their rebound damping is minimal. Get the upgrades.

Just going by what I have read. Some have said if you are going to do heavy off-roading this design is not as stable as the BDS. Could you have tabs that keep them centered?
The SMAXX problem is that they re-use the OEM upper rubber shock mount, which can tear loose, especially with heavy extension stress. BDS replaces this structure with polyurethane shock spacers that aren't likely to fail the same way in shear.

Well, in the front of my truck, I've only got the BDS spacer.. and that is 2" preload. The additional 1/2" aluminum ring that Mark had designed to go with the 1.5" preload spacer, would still mount outside of the assembly... I'm not sure if any of the BDS fold have done this yet, but it seems as thought it would be possible.

You already have the SMaxx 2.5" kit in the front, no? If so, then you already have that 1/2" spacer. You're at the limit for what you can do safely by stacking...

As for the rear, again, I have the 2" BDS spacer, which mounts at the top and bolts to the frame of the truck. The 1.5" block would sit on the spring perch on the axle...

markmc count me in. im new into the 4X4 and lifting scene. but i do my research before hand. smaxx seems to start gettin sum bad reviews and need minor modification so it wont squeek. if u can fix all that that would b great. i was plannin to get the 2.5" lift in the front with Z71 rear springs and shocks. but ill keep and eye open out for your product first

Update..
I have most of the tooling ready for production.
Waiting on roadie to send me the dimensions of that
nub on the rear axle (lower) spring perch that keeps the
spring centered so i can make the rear block spacer.
as soon as i get that made i will post up some pics of
how it all is put together and made...
:thx

Gonna have to get my vender stuff from trailvoy also..

it wont hurt my feelings if you cant wait..
Hopeing to have castings in a couple weeks, if that works for you..

i test ran the pattern today..
The front 1/2" spacer and the 1 1/2" spring spacer came out
fine.. But i am haveing some issues with the 1 1/2" rear
spring block..no big deal, just some more tweeking is all.

Also Voltage:
You will be the first to have the new Lift!!
smaxx`s plastic spacers are 1 1/4" thick.
Mine are 1 1/2" thick giveing a little more lift..haha..
something i held back from Larry..
:thx
