PCM Tune

Can I assume that a PCM Tune is the same as a PCM update.

If so, do I need to spend dealer money or are they done the same from my local mechanic?

They are not the same, an update is just what the factory may have "improved" in the software. But a "tune" is a change to the operating parameters to make the engine and transmission work better. Check with PCMofNC.com for info on a tune.

I got the pcm tune about 6 months back and love it! Way worth the money if your thinking about it, and easy enough no mechanic is needed!
