I've been hesitant to get them aswell. From what you have seen of the inside of the hood, Do you think we can use small self tapping screws?

I mean I just don't think it's worth it on this hood and could you probably do it, sure; I think anything’s possible with ingenuity and effort!

Now on a stock hood no problem.

It also felt heavier so they may not hold

I don't believe there is any real weight difference but I could be wrong.

I had contacted Redling Tuning about changing hoods earlier in another post and here is their reply...

The only thing to look out for is that the aftermarket hood has the
same hood frame where we mount the bracket as the stock unit. Be sure
to check the installation manual and verify everything looks the same.

Thanks,

I received the new rivets, just have to check the hood mounting brackets. An experienced auto body shop is doing this for me so I would have to check with them.

Do the rivets look any different? Longer or thicker?

They look a little longer and thicker. I'll try to get a pic up for comparison.

Yep it's functional! I'm actually down in Lawton/Fort Sill and I was up in Noble and OKC today; isn't Midwest City around the outskirts of OKC? If I come up to Noble again to go to Thunder Valley before they close for the year, then you should come to the track. It was a nice day today, but I'm hoping for some cooler weather next time I decide to go to Thunder Valley.
