Air suspension will not engage but compressor functions.

Hello, I had to replace my fuel pump and now my compressor won't turn on.

The compressor functions because I used the tire inflator to juice the wheels.

I read a bit about the ride level sensors, etc. but I'm not seeing how any of those specific diags relate as none of that was messed with. I did Jack up the rear and place on stands but I did that before when I rotate the tires.

This is a 2005 GMC Envoy XL 5.3L.

Any tips before I rip it all out and replace with coil overs?
Thank you very much.

Just replaced mine with Moog springs due to one side leaking slow. Would highly recommend it truck rides way better a lot less sway and only took 45 min to do both. Got them from auto parts warehouse PD 72.00 buck delivered cheapest fix I had so far. Good luck.

I decided to perform the coil spring swap as well.
I got the Moog springs and some Monroe shocks during the Labor Day sale and it was right around $80 shipped for everything.

Once I got the truck lifted and the wheels off I realized that the plastic ride height sensor arms were snapped in half.

I guess you can't lift these vehicles on jackstands without 1st disconnecting those sensor arms..
Hell I didn't know that so I broke both of them.

Anyways, hopefully someone will come across this thread read that little piece.

But honestly I'm not sure if it's placebo or that the old shocks and air bags were worn out but I think the coil springs ride much smoother!

I capped off the air lines and left the compressor in place so now I still have the ability to air up my tires whenever I need to.

Appreciate the site and your reply!
