Transmission Stuck in Neutral

This is my first post and I could use any advise the community could provide. Unlike others, my Trailblazer is stuck in neutral and won't engage in any gear. It will start and shift but there is no movement. I haven't been able to get it in gear in several months. I'm guessing that it's permanently stuck in neutral. The only indication of a problem is the service 4WD light. I changed the encoder motor and it still does not engage. I'm considering changing the TCCM if I can find it in the dash board. But at this point I don't have any idea what the problem is. I went through the process of resetting the TCCM several times without any success. What do I try next? In this economy, I'm trying to save money for emergencies and spend less money with the dealer.

Thanks in advance for any help.

PS: Could changing the transmission and transfer case fluid help?
One more thing. I changed the clutch fan before this happened.

Had a similar problem, learned that the hard way. I use to use the a4wd shift full time and when I started to use the 2wd, the truck didn't move. as if the truck was in neutral. Until I turned it back to a4wd the truck started move again.

Got my tccm reflashed with the lastest updates and problems solved.

Transmission Stuck in Neutral

Buc Nasty,

Thanks for the help. But changing the switch does nothing to move my trailblazer. My 4wd switch only lights up when I start the truck. Nothing happens when I switch between 2wd and A4WD. If you have anymore suggestions please let me know.

I think this was his suggestion.
Your transfer case is stuck in neutral, with the service 4wd light on.

There are fault codes generated by the TCCM, you need to have these read (now that's gonna be a problem if you can't move the truck).
You need to borrow a TCCM (friend maybe) to see if this solves the problem. It'll be hit or miss if you can't get the codes read.

BTW, the TCCM is under the dash, near the drivers left knee
We have some pics of the TCCM, on here, but there are so many TCCM threads that it will be a long search

I am very confused as i did not touch anything with the transmission. what can possibly be the problem
