Official TBSS Weight Thread

Please only post here if you have weighed your vehicle on a scale.

When posting, list all things which may have affected your weight.

I've subtracted the weight of fuel in order to arrive at a full "wet weight"; feel free to do likewise.

Please follow this format:

TBSS Style: 2WD
TBSS Package: Loaded LT (no nav or entertainment)
Fuel Reading: 5/8 tank of gas
Articles in Vehicle: Spare tire, $10 in quarters, Pendleton jacket
Occupied: NO
--------------
2WD TBSS WEIGHT (all fluids + fuel): 4680 lbs.

Gasoline weighs between 5.6 and 6.6 lbs. per gallon, I'll use 6 lbs/gal.
22 gallons X 5/8 = 13.75 gal.
13.75 gal. X 6 lbs./gal. = 82.5 lbs.
4680 lbs. - 82.5 lbs. = 4597.5 lbs.
--------------------------------
2WD TBSS WET WEIGHT (all fluids, no fuel): ~4597.5 lbs.

So, 4998 lbs - 300 lbs = 4698 lbs w/no driver
22 gal X 1/8 = 2.75 gal fuel
2.75 gal X 6 lbs/gal = 16.5 lbs fuel
4698 lbs - 16.5 lbs = 4681.5 lbs

Now all we have to do is add in the weight of the spare to properly compare AWD to 2WD. Who can weigh their spare to get us this number?

AWD TBSS WET WEIGHT (all fluids, no fuel, no spare): ~4681.5 lbs.

EDITED TO REFLECT ADDED SPARE WEIGHT:
So, 4998 lbs - 300 lbs = 4698 lbs w/no driver
22 gal X 1/8 = 2.75 gal fuel
2.75 gal X 6 lbs/gal = 16.5 lbs fuel
4698 lbs - 16.5 lbs = 4681.5 lbs
4681.5 lbs + 59 lbs (spare) = 4740.5 lbs

Now all we have to do is add in the weight of the spare to properly compare AWD to 2WD. Who can weigh their spare to get us this number?

Edited to reflect added spare weight:
AWD TBSS WET WEIGHT (all fluids, no fuel): ~4740.5 lbs.

Boy, I tell you, the inability for me to edit my first post (or any of my posts for that matter) to reflect changes, or even to keep a running list of vehicles and weights in my first post, is going to make this thread an absolute mess.

Easiest way is to have 2 people fill their truck up go to a TruckStop and weigh in with them out of the truck.Should be pretty close.Post scale ticket.Cause there has to be a bigger difference then 140 lbs

Hmm, interesting. I wonder if that was without the spare? I wonder if that was the weight on a scale before it was loaded onto the train, or the car hauler?

My AWD LT weighed 4720, range was 30 miles at the time, say 2 gallons of gas.
