Head Unit Issues

2004 Gmc Envoy Xl Headunit display Blank but is on. Can Check time by pushing Tune button. No sound or chime. Able to eject cds.
Swapped with my other Envoy aftermarket headunit with aftermarket harness adapter(works in other). Turns on but no sound. What could be the problem.

its doubtful both head units are faulty.

most likely a bad wire in the aftermarket harness.

you need to double check all connections.

what model harness is it?

Not aftermarket issue.
Works fine in my other Envoy.
What I am.having is no sound out of either the Factory of the aftermarket units.
The factory units display wouldn't light up,
No sound from it or chime.
When the aftermarket was installed turns on fine but same thing No sound or chime.
Took everything out and replugged everything like from scratch. Still no sound.

Do you have the Bose radio? If so check fuse for Amp, #11 in rear fuse box. Also check your speakers for continuity.

Your original HU may be toast at this point

Yes was a Bose that came with it.
Tried my other envoys unit and an aftermarket wit a PAC rp5 gm11 harness kit.
Still.no.sound or factory chime.
Checked fuse #11 it was good.
Still swapped it out but still nothing.
Could it be the actual factory amp?
