Going from P-metric to LT
I do a lot of reading on here to help me with various issues with my 06 Envoy Denali. The wife normally drives this vehicle and she told me she wanted some beefy tires on it. Well, enough said. I've ordered a 2" lift and some 1.5" hub/wheel-centric wheel spacers as there wasn't squat available in AT tires for the stock 18" wheels. I've decided to go with a 265/65r18 tire as they are a common size and seem like they should fit based on my measurements (unfortunately there aren't many Trailblazers/Envoys with stock 18" wheels for me to compare to.) I was pretty much set on ordering a set of Falken Wild Peak AT3W's based on the meaty tread design and decent feedback I've read on that line of tires. They are about 46lbs in a P-metric size with 13/32" tread depth. That's about 8lbs heavier than the highway tires it is wearing currently. But, to throw a monkey wrench into my plans I just today came across a deal on some Nitto Exo Grapplers in LT265/65r18. They look a bit beefier to me, have 18.3/32" tread and are a tougher 10ply tire. However, they spec out at a staggering 58lbs. This has me worried about wear and tear as its about 20lbs heavier than the tires it has now. Do you guys that run 32" or more LT's run into problems with the extra weight? This is my first time running bigger tires on 4x4 and my brain says don't worry about it, its a body-on-frame V-8, all sorts of pickups/suvs run big tires. But my gut makes me think it could be a mistake.
