Headlights are Possessed

I have a 2002 Trailblazer that while sitting in the garage not running, no keys in the ignition the headlights will come on and stay on for a while and then turn off for awhile and then come back on for awhile. This last time I pushed the high beam lever forward and back again and they went out, no sure if it was a coincidence, while driving yesterday the dash lights went out for awhile and then back on, not sure if I did anything by turning headlight switch on and off, it seems to be a relay thing but don't know where to look, has anyone experienced this same issue?
Thanks everyone!!!

Dan

Sounds like the headlamp driver relay , it's in the fuse box under the hood and are known to have issues in these vehicles .

Low Beams won't work

My headlights are not possessed. Low beams will not work. I have looked in the fuse box under the hood. I find that there is one relay where all of the documentation for troubleshooting says there should be TWO. One for headlights and one for a fan. They should be interchangeable. I checked the legend for the fuses and indeed there is only ONE. Swapping the relays when there are two is supposed to help to identify the problem. What shall I do when there is only one?

BTW my beloved 04 Envoy SLT was in an accident and they totaled it.

This problem is with the 2008 Envoy SLE with 107K miles that I got to replace it.

It seems to have electrical problems too but no codes being thrown.

Anyone else having this problem?

If you have a 2008 there will not be a relay for the fan because GM went back to the old non electric fan clutch after 2007 because of so many issues with the electro viscous setup of previous years which was a smart move on their part .
so you will have to buy a relay to try instead of just swapping them around . Also check to see if the recall for HDM (headlamp driver module
) module was ever done on your vehicle. This was a recall for 2007-2008 model years . Take it to the dealer and have them run the VIN to check to see if this was done. If not then they should replace it free . https://www.detroitnews.com/story/bu...ion/101554484/

Low Beams not working

Thank you Viper. I purchased a new relay and lights are working again.

Now to figure out the driver side seat belt and many lights out on the dash.

Loved my 2004 Envoy. This one is a challenge
