Mud flaps with factory running boards

I'm getting OEM running boards put on soon due to the TSB about road debris. I was thinking about puting on the OEM mud flaps too. A couple of places have said that you can only put the rear flaps on when you have running boards. Do you guys know this to be true? I thought I saw someone's TB on here that had both front and back flaps.

So I'm looking at gmpartsdirect.com. They have two models of flaps. One they say can only be used with running boards (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...mber=12497726), and the other can't be used with running boards (http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...mber=12497608).

Does anybody know the difference between the two?

I have mud flaps with running boards as well. They're not OEM flaps but they look like they are, and work great. Here they are...

I put OEM factory molded mudflaps on after I had put on the OEM running boards, no problems with the install.
