I didn't have a bad experience, I had the a horrible experience, one that showed me how Rockauto runs its business.
What you fail to state is when the consumer sets the return, Rockauto changes the reason for the return to stick the consumer with the shipping charges. My items I bought where dinged and scratched up, if I am paying for items on my credit card, I expect them to be brand new. You have complaints on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp, by other consumers who have received questionable merchandise that was supposed to be “brand new”.
RockAuto failed to refund me the money that was owed to me and only did a partial refund even after returning the items within a few days of getting the merchandise. It took Rockauto 3 months to refund me the rest of my money that was due.
A dispute was opened on the above matter with my Credit Card company, upon which Rockauto lied about the reason why I returned the merchandise, Rockauto stated I did not want the items and sent off a statement to my credit company on this matter, I sent my credit card company the emails that I had sent to Rockauto that showed them, I was not pleased with how the merchandise looked “used” to me and this was the reason why I was disputing the merchandise.
I decided to give RockAuto a second chance to redeem themselves and ordered new items online, my credit card was charged and then I get an email that was basically extortion. “I am writing to let you know that the subject order remains on hold because our records indicate that your account has a payment dispute related to a previous order (4xxxxxx37). In order to process the subject order, or any other order we receive from you in the future, we'll need you to close that dispute and then provide evidence to us that it has been closed. Please do that in response to this email.”
Of course I cancelled that order!!! Rockauto will not dictate my disputes nor will they force me to lose my rights when I question any merchandise I buy with my money. I will never use Rockauto ever again after these horrible experiences.
Been very happy spending money with Amazon, having a prime account I get my items in 2 days for free and the prices can’t be beat, period. I also get hassle free returns if parts don't fit
