Check engine light 2008 SS

My check engine light comes on with no noticeable change in performance. It started when we had freezing and sub zero temps. I can reset it with my diag tool but in a day or so, it comes back on. I use the mid price gas and the octane rating is in the parameters in the manual. Any suggestions?
