I also have 6000K kits from VVME in my low beams and fogs. Very slight hint of blue tint to them, which is what I was going for. Perfect match to my 6000K LEDs I have in my lift gate light bar, reverse lights, and Audi style eyebrows.

One problem though....every now and again, the driver side HID does not turn on. I always attributed that to the issue with the DRLs. I just tested after installing the above mod and the driver side light was off. I'm hoping it won't happen anymore after this mod. Am I safe to think this or do I have a serious problem?

Thanks
I expect u might need relay harness, so the power for startup surge comes straight from battery, rather thru all the std switches and factory wiring... worked 4me...

DRL take a few seconds to warm up, they are reasonably bright within maybe 5-10 seconds, but don't seem to reach full potential till maybe 20 seconds. Therefore, you don't want to switch from low beam to high beam, cause when you go back, your lights will kinda suck for a few seconds. I used the DRL modifier from Jetttstream (vendor here) I used the DRL off, Auto lights on, with the Quad light option. When I flip on my high beams, the lows stay on. This way when I switch back to lows, no warmup time since they were on the whole time. I use Silverstar Ultra bulbs in the highs. Not as white as the HID, but not bad.
So far i just did the DRL fix #1 with capacitor, so DRL is 100% power, (so eliminated the buzzing (of relay or ballast)) -- and all behaves normally. My current halogen Silverstars for hi-beams are much dimmer by comparison...

May consider jettstream quad option as planB.. thx again 4comments

Search for the quad beam mod. I just did it yesterday. I put HIDs in my highs and love them. I now have HIDs in all of my lights. Trust me, if you go this route you will love. BUT if you do put HIDs in the highs it is extremely recommended that you do the quad beam mod.

Hey guys,

It seems this thread is a little all over the place. If there are every any specific questions--I am here to help answer them.

Especially for DRL, HID, and LEDs!

HID lights...problem solved

I did the DRL killer mod and the quad 4 mod together. Upgraded to 55w ballasts using 5000K lights, Put in a retro-solutions time delay relay so that there is a smooth ignition of the xenon when starting (both lights no flicker) and everything works flawlessly! Plenty of light and no problems...Couldn't ask for more.

Wink HID lights...Problem solved

Also, you may want to reconsider changing high beams to hid, especially since they're not instant on. Very important when using "flash to pass."

drl killer

ik hids cant run on drl setting but from what ive read (possibly incorrect) in 03 and up models you can just turn them off with the dash switch? i feel dumb for asking that but i just got it and my previous vehicle a 98 c1500 had drl that couldnt be turned off what so ever and these can and ive never had the need to up until well soon when this hid kit comes in the mail i just didn't know if this would work cause ive never had a vehicle like that, i know another issue would be the key fob but my current one barely works atm so id just quit using it tbh.

Question for everyone, I installed my kit this afternoon and both sides did not turn on. Plugged in the old lights without the HID's and they turned on. Am I missing something?

Also can anyone explain the DRL?
