Need transfer case expert advise

I have a 2005 envoy XL with transfer case issues

The info on the case is

Model GM226DH
assy # 1258 5314
ser # 02 03(?) 05
Ratio 269

I have aquired a used case

Model GM226HD
assy. # 2423 6606
ser # 01 07 06 (?) question mark indicates an unclear number on the tag

Will the second case work as a direct replacement, and what is the difference in regards to the different assembly numbers ?

The NVG226 transfer is common all years of Trailblazer and Envoy platforms. This the 4x4 TC with 2WD, A4WD, 4HI & 4LO.

Thanks

However, the question was will the assembly number, which is different, affect the used one from being a good fit.

What do the assembly numbers denote?
