Electronic Brake Controller?
HI All, long time lurker, first time poster. I have a question about pulling a travel trailer. I did a search and could not find anything, If I posted this in the wrong spot, my apologies.
I have a 2006 TB EXT LT with the I6 and 3.42 gears.
We are upgrading from a small popup camper to a 25ft 3800lbs dry 2 axle travel trailer which I am picking up tomorrow. Considering that it is significantly heavier, longer and taller than the popup, I decided to get a weight distribution hitch with sway control. I am also getting an electronic brake controller installed.
The issue is, the cannot install brake controller for another 2 or 3 weeks and I need to pick up the trailer from the seller tomorrow. Do you guys think as long as I keep it slow and take extra time for braking that it will be ok to drive it home? It's about an hour away from my home with some highway driving.
Ive pulled a loaded car trailer with similar weight in the past with no issues so I think it will be ok and most likely I am being overly nervous (which is not a bad thing.
I just had a reman trans installed, it might be a good idea to get an extra cooler for it, idk.
Anyways, if anyone has any thoughts, I would appreciate it.
