Anyone know which Vehicle's transmissions are compatible with the 4.2L?

okay so there's a local junkyard near me selling parts CHEAP. our transmission was starting to go out and due to the low prices, we were considering just flat out replacing it if we could find one decent enough. so my question is, aside from other GMT360 vehicles with the 4.2, are there any other GM Vehicles with compatible transmissions? (the specific vehicle is a 2006 chevy trailblazer 4.2L with 4X4) and if so anyone know the specific years of compatibility? (such as I've heard you can't put ones from '05 trailblazers or older into '06 and newer). and i've also heard someone mention a 4L65e from a same year silverado would work, can anyone confirm this?

4L60E's are identical across the board. The real difference is the bell housing. If you can get the specific Torx bit, you can swap out bell housing's to make it fit.

2007 and up, and possibly some 06 have an input speed sensor in the pump. That one may not work on an older vehicle. the older ones are all the same.
