Brake Pedal Question

So, I will explain this the best way I can... I have an '04 Envoy XL, when I push down on the brake pedal, the brakes come on like they should and will full lock-up (activate ABS) at probably 1/3 to 1/2 of pedal travel. But the pedal will then continue to travel to the floor. I do not have any fluid leaks, ABS works properly, no codes. Not sure if it could be a master cylinder or brake booster issue.

Any help ideas would be appreciated...

I had a similar issue with mine and it ended up being the master cylinder. Brakes always felt soft to me and eventually it got to the point where even pressing the pedal all the way down the truck still wouldn't stop! It's pretty easy to change. Just be sure to prime the cylinder with brake fluid before installing it and to bleed all four calipers after installation.

brake petal issue

When i depress the brake petal, about 2/3's down, it seems like abs kicks in.
I have read that the sensors on the wheels may have rust on them & wonder if that may
cause my problem?

I had a similar issue on a 2004 envoy xl I had as well. I tried just about everything over a 2 year span before I just went ahead and replaced both front hub bearings. Problem solved! I had even removed the sensors and cleaned them a couple of times, but it never solved anything until I just replaced the whole hub.

Have you hooked up a computer and completed an ABS brake bleed. This was my issue. I ended up buying a computer because the mechanics wanted $50-$100 and I bought mine for $100. It seemed to be the better option just in case I needed to do it again.
