What procedure are you using? The correct procedure is:
Quote:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN with the engine off.
3. Turn the headlamp control from off to parking lamps four times within three seconds. A double horn chirp will sound and the TPMS low tire warning light will begin to flash. The double horn chirp and flashing TPMS warning light indicate that the TPMS matching process has started. The TPMS warning light should continue flashing throughout the matching procedure.
4. Start with the driverís side front tire.
5. Remove the valve cap from the valve cap stem. Activate the TPMS sensor by increasing or decreasing the tireís air pressure for 10 seconds, then stop and listen for a single horn chirp. The single horn chirp should sound within 15 seconds, confirming that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position. If you do not hear the confirming single horn chirp, you will need to start over with step number one. To let air-pressure out of a tire you can use the pointed end of the valve cap, a pencil-style air pressure gage, or a key.
6. Proceed to the passengerís side front tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
7. Proceed to the passengerís side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
8. Proceed to the driverís side rear tire, and repeat the procedure in Step 5.
9. After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the driverís side rear tire, check to see if the TPMS warning light is still flashing. If yes, turn the ignition switch to LOCK to exit the sensor matching process. If the TPMS warning light is not flashing, the five minute time limit has passed and you will need to start the process over beginning with Step 1.
10. Set all four tires to the recommended air pressure level as indicated on the Tire and Loading Information label.
11. Put the valve caps back on the valve stems
Are you getting the horn chirps indicating the start of the procedure? Are you getting any horn chirps for any tires? If it is just the tires that are not chirping I would have to guess you have the wrong TPMS sensors. Or it could be the receiver. Did you try recalibrating before you changed out all of the sensors? Usually only one sensor will fail at a time but if all 4 go at once then it is the receiver.

If it never chirps, the DUH! solution is the horn is not working. Assuming that is not the case, the only thing I can think of is that either you have a different BCM computer or you are not following the EXACT procedure given.
Quote:
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Turn the ignition switch to RUN with the engine off.
3. Turn the headlamp control from off to parking lamps four times within three seconds.
Maybe the parking brake isn't being recognized? You should see the light on the dash when in run mode. Run is not accessory. It is RUN. Parking lamps are not headlamps.

Even if you have the wrong TPMS sensors you should still be able to get into the relearn mode. Again, though, if all 4 sensors failed at the same time then it is the receiver and I'm not sure if you would start relearn with a bad receiver.

Guys, I have the same exact problem. Can't get the system into learn mode.

2009 9-7x, learn procedure in the manual is exactly as posted above. I do that and no double chirp. No chirp at all. I verified parking brake switch works fine. And horn does work, LOL. The TPMS system works fine otherwise and I haven't changed any sensors. I just need to relearn because I found out some bozo at the tire place rotated the wheels without being asked to.

The only questionable issue is that the car doesn't have a headlight OFF position. The default position is AUTO like other GM cars of the period. But on a different car I was able to get into learn just fine by switching 4 times between AUTO and parking lights. So it seems unlikely this has to do with it.

Any ideas? George, if you're still around, did you figure it out on your truck?

Ok, I figured it out.

If you have auto headlights, you need to do the 4 times switching between the ON/OFF position (which is a momentary position) and the parking light position. This is a bit awkward and it took me a couple of tries. It's also different from my other GM vehicle where you switch between AUTO and parking lights. Very odd.
