Question How to Remove the Front Gold Bowtie?

I have purchased a SS brand billet aluminum bowtie to replace the gold plastic stock emblem.

I'm going to paint the new emblem GM Black.

My questions are how is the stock emblem held on and what is the best way to remove it?

Thanks,

tjl

There are only about10-12 clips that hold the front grille fascia onto the frame. When you pop the hood you will see the top two clips located in front of the radiator just on the sides of the hood latch (about 8 inches to each side). I used a flat head screwdriver to pry those two loose and then gently pried the rest loose with the help of the screwdriver wrapped in a polishing cloth to avoid paint damage in the areas under the headlights. It is really easy..take you 15 minutes if you have no clue to how to do it.

The bowtie is held on by two plastic screws with locknuts, I used needlenose pliers to take the nuts off after I removed the grille fascia.

I changed my bowtie from start to finish in about 35 minutes..... just take your time and be gentle with the fascia to avoid damaging the paint.

Good luck.
