Just acquired an '04. Super stock. Want to mod

Hi guys. I just acquired my wife's 2004 TB LS. It is all the way stock. There have been things that drove me nuts about it for years, but since I wasn't the one driving it, I didn't really concern myself with it.

I'd like to remove the black door molding. I'm not so scared of how to do it as much as I am with the paint being faded. I mean, it's a 12 year old car. Do you guys think I'm going to have a darker line on each side where it was hidden from the sun?

Was there ever a different door handle made for these? Like the pull handle in a Tahoe or any modern car. I think I've only ever seen the lift up handle. I would love to change that out if it exists.

Got some pretty yellowed headlights, too. After doing some research on here, it seems the after market projectors are underwhelming, at least in performance. Should I just get some stock replacements on eBay that just freshen up the look?

Thanks.

After 12 years yes you may see some fading, what color is your car? I'm guessing that it won't be too much fading at all.

Door handle wise, no your stuck unless you get one for a different vehicle and do modifications,

I have had 2 sets of projectors with HID bulbs in the and you are correct they have been horrible with light output. Basically your options are buys a set of stock headlights ( you can get ones that are painted black or chrome) or buy stock headlights and mod them with a good set of projectors.

My car is the Silvertone Metallic (but it looks kind of champagne-ish). The LS badges are still on, and I thought maybe I could take those off as a test run on the fading.

That's what I figured with both the handles and the headlights. Bummer that no one ever made a handle that would fit the TB, or that they never adjusted that for the later models around 08 and 09.

Thanks for the reply.

After looking at my headlight replacements on eBay, I can't tell if I should buy the lights with a black housing, or ones with gray housing. Are the stock ones black or gray? Are the ones on eBay really just gray but they call them black?
