Great article!

I am one of those people who had to "STOP HERE"

Is there any info out there about installing the compass & thermometer on a plain jane LS with just the basic rearview mirror (no plug on the back)?

Price through the dealership :

Temp Sensor $23.05 + tax
Connector Plug $25.41 + tax

So all in all this project should cost you around $75 after buying a mirror on ebay or junk yard.

I think I paid $90 all told, but I didnt price around for the mirror.
Once I found the one I needed, I just did a "buy it now".

That sounds about right for the parts.. $40-$50. for the sens/harness.

You'll love the mod. Its a nice addition for such a small amount or
work on your part.

gmpartsdirect.com has the first two parts pretty cheap, but where would you buy the two delphi parts? I definitely plan to check the plug on mine this weekend, and maybe start collecting the parts

I bought a boatload from Mouser a while back, but I have given them all away

The dealer should have the Delphi parts you need.

Chris

Ok, I just installed one that i bought from an '04 TB. Plugged right in no problem, made sure Onstar still worked, powers right up and displays the compass, but someone mentioned it would flash OC till the Temp sensor is installed, but it just always shows compass. Did they make any rear view mirrors that had compass but no temp? Let me know what you guys think. I'm pretty happy with mine but just curious if the temp will work or no.
