Comprehensive lift and accessory thread

Big thanks to JamesDowning and Gordinho80 for taking the time to compile this information on our sister site for serious Trailvoy off-roaders!! ORTB thread

There are (currently) 6 main lift options.

- MarkMC suspension lift
- MarkMC body lift
- BDS suspension lift
- Zone body lift
- Rough Country suspension lift
- Ready-Lift suspension lift
- SuspensionMaxx suspension lift

** LiftMeister 2.5"Suspension Lift Spacers/ 3" Body Lift - https://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.php?t=55363

PM MarkMC for price and availability

Note: All spacers are made of stainless impregnated T1 356
aluminum and can be painted to your color of choice.
Gold washers in this kit may be substituted for black
due to suppliers stock.
Not responsible for accident or injury
due to the installation of this kit

Suspension lift is made of two front spacers that mount inside the strut assembly as well as two extra spacers outside of the assembly. The rear is lifted by two spacers that mount on the bottom of the springs. The original upper strut mounts are used in to front. The body lift includes everything needed to raise the body 3". Some cutting is required. All instruction are included, and are available in PDF format by request.

** BDS 2" Suspension Lift - http://www.bds-suspension.com/kits/168H
2" CHEVY TRAILBLAZER/GMC ENVOY

INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS: http://www.bds-suspension.com/pdfs/011201.pdf

The BDS suspension lift completely gets rid of the upper shock mounting method and provides a single lifting component made of powdercoated steel. This block lifts the spring, and also readjusts the upper shock mounting point to provide a bit more downward articulation. It provides improved shock mount bushings that resists the wear and tear of heavy duty use.

Front 2" Strut Mount
Rear 2" Coil Mount

This system includes two new upper strut mounts that replace the factory upper stut mount. The one piece mount increases the pre-load of the strut as well as increases the over all length of the strut assembly. The rear is lifted via two upper coil spring mounts. New rear 5500 series shocks are also included in the kit.

MAX. TIRE SIZE: 30 x 9.50"
MAX. WHEEL SIZE: 17 x 7
BACK SPACING: Stock

EST. INSTALLATION: 3 to 4 hours
DIFFICULTY LEVEL (easy 1 - 5 complicated): 3

**ANOTHER NOTE** LiftMeister or Suspension Maxx Additional front spacers can be stacked with the BDS front kit, to give a total of 2.75" of lift in front... Pics of difference - http://forums.offroadtb.com/phpBB/vi....php?f=11&t=21

** Zone Offroad 2" Body Lift - http://zoneoffroad.com/product?ki=191&gr=-1

2" Trailblazer Body Lift

The Zone body lift is the odd ball, as it merely lifts the body in relation to the frame. This 2" body lift is perfect to add that little extra tire clearance that you need. The system relocates the front and rear bumpers to maintain a factory look. Grade 10.9 body bolts are included along with Zone Offroad's Crush-Proof body blocks.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

** Rough Country - Suspension lift http://www.roughcountry.com/chevy_tr..._leveling.html

The Rough country is essentially a copy of the BDS kit, however it seems to be made of lighter-gauge metal. It appears to utilize an improved upper-shock mount also. We discourage people from the RC kit, as BDS was the original designer of this lift type. It seems Rough Country merely copied the design.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

** Ready Lift - Suspension lift http://www.readylift.com/c-196-trail...wd-20f10r.aspx

The Ready Lift is a bolt-on unit, and does not require taking the strut apart. The lift is added completely outside the strut, thus lifting the vehicle at rest, but also adding that full amount to the downward articulation of the suspension, potentially putting it into a bind-up scenario. We have heard good results so far from this kit, and from our measurements, it shouldn't create binding.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

** Icon Vehicle Dynamics Coil-overs - Part #: Not Yet Released

The coil over is in the development and testing phase, but looking more and more like a viable product. This is a mere placeholder for now.

** SuspensionMaxx Spacers - http://suspensionmaxx.com/mm5/trailblazer.html
Front Lift Spacers, up to 2.5" lift

SMX-10100 - 1.5 INCH
SMX-10125 - 1.75 INCH
SMX-250XL - 2.5 INCH
SMX-ST50 - .75 INCH Top Spacer

Rear Lift Spacers, up to 2" lift
SMX-15100 - 1 INCH
SMX-15150 - 1.5 INCH
SMX-15200 - 2 INCH

** Avalanche/Tahoe/Suburban Z71 Springs - GM Part #15234633 or #25978750

We have learned that 2007+ Tahoe Z71 rear coil springs actually work in our vehicles. The springs are stiffer and provide ~1.5" of lift in the rear only, however are the same uncompressed length as the stock trailblazer springs. Almost always available at low cost (under $50 a pair plus shipping) on Ebay with very low mileage since lift and lowering companies take these off new vehicles and sell them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

** Skyjacker Softride Coil Springs - C25R

We now know that the Skyjacker Softride Coil Spring, designed for the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon, C25R, effectively gives our vehicles approximately 4" of lift over stock in the rear. This is a great way to get maximum lift in the rear without spacers.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

** AirLift 1000 Air Bags - http://www.airliftcompany.com/al1000.html

Part # 60779 - For STOCK Trailblazer/Envoy/etc Rear Springs
Part # 60769 - For Avalanche/Tahoe/ Rear Springs

Up to 1000lbs of load leveling capability - used to increase rest height and aid with loaded cargo area, prevents rear sag...

Airlift 1000 bags allow the user to adjust the spring constant of their rear springs. This means the user can 'preload' the bags with pressure, to counteract a heavy load or trailer tongue weight. It also can provide lift, but also stiffens the springs.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

-----------------------------------------------------------------

** BDS Rear Shocks
More and more members are going the BDS route for rear shocks with their lifts. The 2 most popular options are the 5500 (Hydraulic) and Fox Racing 2.0 (Gas) series. Designed and tested to work with a lifted vehicle with Z71 springs.

Hydraulic Shock Absorber - #55619

Gas Shock Absorber - Fox Racing 2.0 gas shock made by BDS - #98224619 (picture does not show our mounting eyelet)

** Bilstein HD Shocks/Struts
Many people use the Bilstein HDs. They offer a higher dampening rate that helps improve vehicle control when in bumpy or rocky areas.

FRONT: Trailblazer/Envoy replacement: F4-BE5-A333-H0

REAR: Trailblazer/Envoy replacement: F4-BE5-A335-H0
