After reading that it's okay to use the larger rotors in the front, I decided to go for it. I have 17inch rims, and it cleared it by 3/8 to 1/2 inch. I || Cardone Envoy XL front mounting brackets but the same calipers were used as they're compatible. Pads were Akebonos. Bled the lines and Envoy stops much better. Still a little soft, so im going to try the loose gravel trick to activate the ABS later. Thanks to all Trailvoys peeps for your input, it's saved me literally thousands.
Read in another blog that mentioned that 'Vette Brake Pads will fit the Envoy XL Calipers and stop the vehicle significantly shorter. Can anyone confirm or recommend pads that worked better than OEM?
Anything to help stop my 5100 LB Beast. '03 Envoy XL XLT 4.2, trailer pkg.
We pull a boat at the high end of the tow limit. Installed Additional Oil and Trans fluid coolers when new, (tap wood, no trans or significant engine problems so far, 178K miles).
