stall speed OE torque converter?

Hi there!

Im about to rebuild my transmission, and want to swap the torque converter as well. (4.2L straight 6). I can either get me a refurbished one, or aftermarket.
Can anybody tell me what the stall speed of the factory torque converter is?
I could go 500rpm higher, but not to much as it isn't a real powerhouse.

Start the car. Put it in drive and hold the brake and floor it. Whatever the tach goes up to is really close to the stall speed. Another 500 RPM won't make much difference in anything.

The OE stall is around 1800 rpm I think.

I only know that at Rock Auto, it lists the stall as "High" for the 4.2L like my 2008 RWD one, and it lists "Low" as the stall version for 6.0L TB SS versions.

Those are relative terms. They should be able to give you an exact number if not then keep looking. Also most performance converter shops need to know info about your engine before they can dial you in a certain stall converter such as cam info, etc.
